Course Overview:

This course is intended to be an applied general qualification within the engineering maintenance mechanical sector in order to give learners the opportunity to develop a range of skills and techniques, personal skills and attributes essential for successful performance in working life.

Target Audience:

This course is structured through a wide range of units aimed at providing opportunities for learners who intend progressing into technician roles and for those who are not yet based in industry and who wish to gain an understanding of engineering.


Delegates must have a minimum International English Language Testing System (IELTS) certification of 4.5

Course Duration:

22 Training Weeks (25-contact hour’s p/w).
This course caters for a minimum of 1 to a maximum of 12 delegates.

    Unit 11- Operation and Maintenance of Mechanical Systems and Components
    Unit 18- Engineering Marking Out
    Unit 24- Operation and Maintenance of Fluid Power Systems and Components


The theory and practical assessment of Pearson BTEC International Level 2 qualification is criterion-referenced and BAES SDT is required to assess learners’ evidence against published outcomes of learning and assessment criteria.

Award on Completion:

Pearson BTEC International Level 2 Diploma in Engineering (Maintenance) through a grading scale of: Pass, Merit, Distinction or Distinction*.
